New from Group: on 28th May, Sinopec has organized the technological achievement evaluation conference for the "640000 T/Year Ethylene Cracking Gas Compressor" developed by Sinopec Maoming Branch. The conference has addresses the following conclusions:
Success in research and manufacturing of the compressor is a great breakthrough of China’s large-scaled centrifugal compressor and driving steam turbine design and manufacturing technologies. It is the first of its kind in China, and its performance index has reached advanced level of international technologies. Therefore, the compressor realized localization of significant equipment. Such success has stopped the era of importing such compressors from abroad, saving a great deal of engineering construction investment for the nation and brought outstanding economic and social benefits.
The evaluation conference is held by Mr. Wang Yutai, the vice director of Sinopec Material and Equipment Dept. Experts presented at the conference are Mr. Wang Jiming (counselor of Sinopec Group and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering), Mr. Huang Li (Vice Secretary of China National Development and Reform Commission), Mr. Sui Yongbing (chief engineer of China Machinery Industry Association) and other 14 related experts. As the compressor research and manufacturing companies, ShenYang Blower Works Group Co. Ltd., Hangzhou Steam Turbine Co., Ltd. (HTC) and Sinopec Maoming Branch have introduced the compressor research and manufacturing status, as well as running status respectively.
After serious discussion, all presented experts agreed that the compressor is the largest cracking gas compressor of its kind made in China. The compressor has adopted several scientific payoffs developed by our own. It has the following unique characteristics:
1、Its design matches the requirements for complete unit operated in a wide running range under various working conditions.
2、It adopts series models with three dimensional flows of high-efficiency centrifugal compressor and internationally advanced three-dimensional software for simulation analysis on viscous fluid flow values. Therefore, it can analyze flow-field of the compressor flow passage, thus to improve efficiency of the complete compressor.
3、The newly-developed stator reliability analyzing software can perform more precise dynamic analysis on large-span and high rotary speed rotators, so as to ensure the compressor units working reliably in a long period and free of failures.
4、The project adopts the technology of water injection, which can effectively prevent mediums coking inside the compressor, so that energy consumption is reduced, locked or possibly locked injection nozzle can be disassembled online or replaced timely.
5、The product has successfully resolved several technological difficulties of driving high-parameter steam turbine, such as broken valve stems. Also, some key parts (including the high-pressure front cylinder, exhaust hood and bearing pedestal) are re-designed in an optimized way. Therefore, the large-scaled compressor units can be transported as a whole without disassembly of all parts, so as to shorten compressor installation period and improve installation quality.
6、The project has adopted advanced processes and technologies and CIMS integrated system, which can ensure the compressor unit matching design requirements. The perfect quality assurance system guaranties product design and manufacturing under control, thus to ensure product quality.
The compressor units are launched for running in Sinopec Maoming Branch in Sept., 2006. Till now, its running examination has proved that all technical indicators match design requirements, meet production processes, and the units have excellent performances, can be operated stably and reliably.
